Cine AI Privacy Policy
The short version: you can use Cine AI without an account. If you sign in, we store your lists, likes and progress so they sync. The free version shows ads from an advertising network — personalized only if you allow tracking. AI features (Scene Search, For You and Finder) send only the photo or preferences needed for your request to a third-party AI service provider through our own server, and only after you allow it. We use an analytics service for analytics, crash reports and performance, a push notification service for push notifications if you allow them, and a subscription management service for Premium. We do not sell your data, and you can delete your account in the App.
This Privacy Policy explains how Cine AI: Movie Finder, Tracker (“Cine AI” or “the App”) and its website cineai.teqergy.com handle information. The App is developed and published by Teqergy, an independent app studio based in Türkiye (“Teqergy”, “we”, “us”). Teqergy is the data controller for the personal data described below.
1. Information you give us
- Account details (optional). If you create an account — with Sign in with Apple, Google or email — we receive your email address, a user ID and, depending on the method, your name. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email address.
- Your activity in the App. Titles you like, skip, rate, save, mark as watched or add to collections; episode progress; your taste-profile settings and filters.
- Profile and community content. An optional profile photo (chosen with the photo picker), public collections, reviews and comments. Content you make public can be seen by other users.
- Scene photos. If you use Scene Search, the photo you choose (from your photo library or camera) is sent for identification as described in “AI-powered features and third-party AI processing” below. It is not added to your profile.
- Imported history. If you import your history from another movie or TV tracking service, we read the export file you select (for example CSV or ZIP) to add the titles, dates and ratings it contains to your profile.
- Support messages. Anything you send us by email.
2. AI-powered features and third-party AI processing
Some Cine AI features use artificial intelligence to generate results: Scene Search (identify a movie or show from a photo), For You recommendations and Finder.
What is sent. When you use one of these features, Cine AI sends only the data needed for that request, through our own server, to a third-party AI service provider:
- for Scene Search: the scene photo you choose;
- for For You and Finder: the preferences you select (for example genres, years, ratings) and the titles you liked or disliked in the app.
We never send your name, email address or account credentials to the AI service provider.
Why. This data is used only to generate the results you asked for (title identification and recommendations). It is not used for advertising.
Retention. We do not store your Scene Search photos on our servers; a photo is processed for your request and discarded. The AI service provider processes the data on our behalf to return the result and may keep it temporarily under its own terms (for example for abuse prevention and security), after which it is deleted.
Your choice. Before any photo or preference data is sent for the first time, Cine AI shows a consent screen explaining what is shared and why, with “Allow” and “Not now” options. Nothing is sent unless you choose Allow. You can withdraw or give consent at any time in Settings › AI processing; if it is off, the AI features stay off and no data is sent.
AI results — title identifications and recommendations — can be inaccurate.
3. Movie and TV data, trailers
Information about movies and TV shows (titles, posters, cast, ratings and streaming availability) comes from third-party entertainment databases. When you play a trailer, it is streamed from a third-party video platform inside the App, and that platform receives your IP address and device information under its own privacy policy.
4. Advertising and tracking
The free version of Cine AI shows ads served by an advertising network; Premium removes them. iOS asks whether you allow Cine AI to track you (App Tracking Transparency). Only if you allow it, your device’s advertising identifier may be used by the advertising network to show and measure personalized ads. If you don’t allow it, ads are not personalized based on tracking, but the advertising network still receives information such as your IP address and device type to deliver ads and prevent fraud. You can change your choice any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
5. Analytics, crash reports and performance
We use an analytics service, a crash reporting service and a performance monitoring service to understand which features are used, receive crash reports and measure app performance. These tools receive an app-instance identifier, in-app events, device and app information and IP-derived approximate location.
6. Notifications and widgets
If you allow notifications, we use a push notification service to deliver push notifications (for example reminders or product updates). This service receives a push token and basic device information. Reminders you set inside the App are scheduled locally on your device. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings › Notifications.
The home-screen widget shows content from the App on your device; you can remove it at any time.
7. Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions and in-app purchases are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your card or bank details. We use a subscription management service to check which purchases are active on your Apple ID so the App can unlock Premium features; this service receives purchase receipts and an app-specific purchaser ID. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your Apple ID settings.
8. Service providers
We use the following processors to run Cine AI. Each receives only the data needed for its purpose.
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud hosting and database provider | Backend: sign-in, database and file storage | Your account details and the content you save in the app |

9. Legal bases
We process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the App and the features you ask for), on the basis of our legitimate interests (keeping the App secure, fixing crashes and understanding which features are used), and on the basis of your consent where it is required (for example push notifications, photo or microphone access, and location). You can withdraw consent at any time in iOS Settings.
Sending scene photos and preferences to the AI service provider is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings › AI processing.
10. How we share data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers. We share data only with the service providers listed in this policy, who process it on our behalf and only to provide their service, or when we are legally required to do so.
Content you choose to make public — such as public collections, reviews, comments and your shared profile — is visible to other users and to anyone you share a link with.
11. How long we keep data
Without an account, your activity is stored mainly on your device (features that need our backend may use an anonymous identifier). With an account, we keep your profile, lists and activity for as long as the account exists. Scene Search photos are not stored on our servers; they are processed for your request and discarded (see “AI-powered features and third-party AI processing”). Analytics, crash and advertising data are kept for limited periods set by the providers and then deleted or aggregated. You can delete your account and its data from within the App at any time; we then delete it from our systems, except limited records we must keep by law (purchase records are held by Apple).
12. International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside Türkiye and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards available under applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses or your explicit consent where required by the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).
13. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. These rights are provided by, among others, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK, Article 11) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To exercise them, email hello@teqergy.com. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority — in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK).
14. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the higher minimum age that applies in your country). If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and rely on established providers that protect stored data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires it.
16. The website
The website cineai.teqergy.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising scripts and contains no forms. Our website hosting provider processes standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, to deliver and secure the site.
17. Changes to this policy
We will update this page — and the “Last updated” date — before any material change takes effect. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will also tell you in the App.
